AVCOM SMT INC United States

Avcom is a complete electronic service manufacturer that offers the ability to choose the services you require. Avcom will manage and produce your entire project or perform a single service that fits your needs. Avcom has the experience, flexibility and resources to assist you in prototype to full-scale production and is capable of working from your supplied parts kits or providing a full turn-key assembly, including functional and in-circuit testing. Avcom has the capability to assemble through-hole, surface mount and mixed technology boards (including BGAs) and specialize in quick turn and prototype jobs. For large volume jobs Avcom's Fuji Line makes it possible to run 14, 000 + components per hour and the Amistar 6448 axial machine allows up to 5, 000 axial leaded component insertions per hour. Also, Avcom utilizes Panasonic Softbeam and Robotic Soldering machines to automate hand-soldering tasks when assemblies do not fit the wave solder or oven soldering process. Standard assembly is to IPC A-610 Rev C Class II standards, and complies with Class III requirements when requested. Avcom's experienced inspectors use a variety of microscopic inspection equipment to back our thorough process control and job documentation practices. Avcom employs SMT Tools BGA-100 Optical Inspection system for BGA components and can rework and repair standard surface mount components, as well as, BGA components with a Pace TF-700 programmable, hot-air rework system. In order to quote assembly work, we would like you to supply specific documentation to adequately quote all phases of the assembly job. Some of the items listed may not apply to a specific job; however, the more information our engineering department is provided, the more accurate we can be in performing the assembly service as requested. 1. Bill of materials. This list should include manufacturer numbers and reference numbers. Manufacturer numbers are necessary if Avcom is being asked to purchase components. 2. Assembly print. This shows the specific placement of parts, printed circuit board size and proper preparation of parts. Please submit any special assembly instructions. 3. Production Model. This enables us to see the physical shape of the board and necessary for machine set-up (not applicable for prototypes) . 4. Packaging. If parts are being supplied, notify Avcom of packaging of those parts, e. G. Bulk or tape reel. 5. Printed circuit boards. If printed circuit boards are being supplied, we would need to know the tooling hole size, board size and type of mask to prescreen wave solder process. 6. Product Sensitivity. Please note if components that have an ESD sensitivity, thermal sensitivity, or solvent sensitivity. Additional Requirements: 1. Gerber files should be provided if Avcom is being requested to secure quotes on PCB's. 2. Schematics and a netlist should be provided if testing is requested along with test specifications. Bon or functional tests can be set up.
