Gensan Meat Market, established in 2007 by Dr. Emilio V. Escobillo, Jr. , the proprietor of Maligo Farms, president of the South Cotabato Swine Producers Association (SOCOSPA) and currently Chairman of the National Hog Export Board under the Philippines' Department of Agriculture, represents the interests of the major hog raisers and producers in the Southern Cotabato (SOCSARGEN) region. The company aims to link our farm-partners to untapped markets, both foreign and local, and to provide world-calss services to our partners in business. We consider it our mission to ensure that our customers get only the choicest meat that is residue and disease-free. We envision ourselves to become the preferred Philippine trader of pork meat from export accredited farms to clients all over the globe. Our hogs are sourced mainly from the South Cotabato Region, located in the southern island of Mindanao. The remoteness, and measures to prevent the spread of diseases helped keep the island free from diseases such as the notorious Foot and Mouth disease. The World Organization for Animal Health, an inter-governemental organization, has also certified the entire island of Mindanao as disease-free. All our meats are processed at Matutum Meat Packing Corp. (MMPC) , a fully integrated hog meat processing plant with operations covering slaughtering and preparation, all the way to the production of boxed meats, secondary cuts, by-products and offals. It has a processing capacity of 240 heads per hour or 600 to 2, 400 heads a day. Located in Polomolok, South Cotabato, it has recently received accreditation from the Department of Agriculture as an Export-grade Meat Processing Plant.
