In 1972, an Australian, Thai, and Hong Kong partnership took a leap of faith to build Thailand's first tuna cannery named SAFCOL (Thailand) , LTD. , for export. The company's name was changed to Kingfisher Holdings, Ltd. in 1989 and Maruha Corporation of Japan, one of the bieest seafood enterprises in the world, joined Kingfisher as a shareholder in 1990. This partnership has markedly improved Kingfisher access to the Japanese markets and raw material sources around the world. Successes in Kingfisher Frozen business have LED to the construction of a brand new factory for our primarily valued added frozen products. Increased market demands have warranted the search of new raw materials, and more efficient processing methods. In addition, more stringent quality demands have also called for new capability and facilities. The new factory will provide Kingfisher not only with state-of-the-art facilities for value added products but also doubling the capacity.
