Many years ago, there were 3 brothers who started a 4x4 Car Rental Company. This experience gave them insight into the unique, creative and artistic weavers communities in the mountain region of Peru. The people met brothers became famous through the stories shared during the travels. They shared this incredible experience during their trips with many kinds of personalities such as businessmen, scientists, nature lovers, and others. All of them were very impressed, when they looked at the most impressive samples of Alpacas, Vicunas, Llamas and Guanacos.
They had several meeting with many people from 14 high Andean Communities, these communities have the most amazing dyeing techniques with natural plants, spinning and weaving, this was the way the "Awana Kancha" exhibition center was born. "Awana Kancha" mediates between tourist and the poorest weavers of the Andes, the weavers can show the beautiful things made by their hands, on the other hand they can sell their products and improve their lives.
Our Company is built around two core assents, the quality of our products and our people (Andean weavers) . In addition we are trying to integrate a new project, that is ink plants and regain ancient dyeing techniques that have almost been forgotten.
A year ago we opened a branch of "Awana Kancha", named a "MICHICC SAC", Michicc`s purpose is to developed international markets and display products woven with Alpaca wool, using ancient techniques and with unique delicate patterns.
