The ceramic factory in Padure is already 130 years old. It started as a producer of bricks, tiles and drains. Almost all historical buildings in district of Kuldiga are made of red bricks and tiles made in Padure factory. Some buildings have also tile stoves made of Padure tiles. The buildings are from 18th century or even older. The technology has been improved and also market situation has changed so the factory obtained a different profile.
