Tsukioka Co., Ltd. has taken a difficult path as a business that had not posted a profit since its inception, all the while investing in new, unknown products; procuring high-priced imported machineries; registering for the ISO 9001 quality control certification; and asking our employees to base all their actions on the question: "IS IT NEW? "By 2000, pressing on steadily where others had not ventured before, thing began to look brighter. While the advent of "Hot Stamping" techniques on the new 10 000-yen and 5 000-yen notes in 2004, people began to notice the Hot Stamping Industry in Japan and all eyes fell upon Tsukioka, which had over the years built a solid business based on high quality, high technology, and the most advanced equipment in the country. Diversifying its activities, water soluble edible film, which was developed base on the research of the edible gold leaf, is now the subject of high demand for medical, cosmetic, medicinal and food industry purpose; a special factory was built and new advanced equipments acquired for it manufacture. The future of Water Soluble Edible Film is still unknown. However the interest that people have in our film is spreading all over the world has brought us a ray of hope since we were honored to receive the 1st Gifu Printing Industry Vitality Prize. As a company, we keep challenging new frontiers, we will strive to be receptive to everyone's guidance, requests as well as reprimands; dedicate our careers to developing our industry; and remembering those who support our efforts, and hopefully giving something back in return.
