United Distributors Pakistan Limited (UDL) has a long history of robust activity in the agricultural sector. We have been actively involved in the development of agro-business in Pakistan since 1985 through our contribution to crop protection. Udl is incorporated in Pakistan as a public limited company and we have a nationwide network to provide products and advisory services to the countrys farming community. Since 1985, we have played significant roles in introducing and establishing multinational businesses in Pakistan. Those companies include; Dow Agro Sciences (USA) , FMC Corporation (USA) , Pioneer Seeds (USA) and Nichimen (Japan) . The businesses of FMC United as well as Pioneer Seeds were developed almost exclusively by UDL. In 1994 and 1996 respectively, these operations were transferred to the above-mentioned companies of which UDL has shareholding. We continue to provide logistics and warehousing services to FMC. However since 1997, we have been slowly establishing our own brands and range of agricultural pesticides along with developing a strong team of Technical Sales Officers to provide field service to the farmers of Pakistan. In 2006 we entered an agreement with DuPont for joint sales of their leading product Steward, and within one years time we signed an agreement to become their representatives in Pakistan. Today, we enjoy a hard-earned reputation of providing the agricultural community with a secure, stable supply of top quality agricultural inputs (primarily pesticides) through our strong distribution network. CROP PROTECTION Pesticide sales are the bulk of UDLs business. We have a wide range of products in our portfolio to treat all forms of pest attack on all crops in Pakistan. We currently have a portfolio of over 40 products. Our supply sources are carefully selected for quality and value. Providing our countrys farming community the best value for money is our concern. China and Malaysia are our main sources for supply of pesticides with a few products being imported from Greece. Our product range covers the following categories- Insecticides Weedicides / Herbicides Fungicides Miticides Micronutrients DISTRIBUTION UDL Pakistan has a national distribution network and has provided its services to companies like Dow Agro Sciences, FMC United, Pioneer Seeds, Nichimen and DuPont. We have a network of nine branches in Pakistan with three temporary branches operational during peak season (July-October) . We are currently providing services to FMC United as well as our own product line. SEEDS UDLs next goal is to establish a range of agricultural seeds from imported Hybrids (rice, maize, sunflower, fruits and vegetables etc. ) , to locally procured seeds (cotton, wheat and rice) . Currently UDL is selling a hybrid sweet sorghum (cattle fodder) seed by the name of Graze King imported from Richardson Seeds USA. In four years we have quadrupled its sales and expect 100 percent growth in sales for the next year. FUTURE VISION and PLANNING We are today ready to take on a broad spectrum of businesses in the agricultural sector of Pakistans economy. These would not just include the above-mentioned pesticides and seeds businesses, but would also look to tap the immense opportunities in playing a pivotal role of acting as a modern distribution link between the farmer and the supplier.
