VI Systems GmbH (VIS) , founded in 2006, is a fabless developer and producer of ultrafast cost-effective optoelectronic devices, which will replace the present generation in short and medium-distance signal transmission networks. VI Systems uniqueness is based on its revolutionary concept of vertically-integrated modulator systems (VIMS) , a new word in ultrahigh-speed optical signal transmission. The monolithic all-epitaxial nanophotonics approach, realized in the Vertical-Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser (VCSEL) architecture, reduces cost while increasing the speed of the optical systems used in tele-and datacom, wireless, computing and consumer markets.
