ersol profileThe ersol Group, subsidiary of Robert Bosch GmbH, is a successful photovoltaics company with four production plants in Arnstadt, Erfurt and Camarillo in California. In Erfurt in Thuringia ersol produces multi and monocrystalline silicon solar cells; a production facility for thin-film modules has been built. Erfurt is also the head office of the ersol Group which consists of the parent company ersol Solar Energy AG, its four subsidiaries and a joint venture in China. In its different business segments ersol Solar Energy AG increased sales up to EUR 310 million in 2008. The strategic goal is to continue growing profitably-and faster than the market. ersol currently has a total workforce of around 1, 300 employees at its different locations, all working for the success of the Group. Acting responsiblyAt ersol the Board of Management and Supervisory Board work together in managing and controlling the company. The basic principles and guidelines contained in the Code of Conduct apply for all ersol employees. Together with its major shareholder Robert Bosch GmbH, ersol is developing highly efficient photovoltaic components for use in a new sustainable energy scenario. ersol is continually reducing its demand for raw materials and energy consumption by gradually increasing the performance of the solar cells, reducing the wafer thickness and developing new products. ersol is therefore contributing both internally and also within the context of global energy supply to a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
