2-Octanol

We can produce 5000 tons of 2-octanol per year. 2-octanol is colorless inflammable oil liquid with aromatic smell. It is low toxic and can slightly dissolved in water, ether, and ethanol. The freezing point is -38°C, the boiling point is 178.3°C. And its refractive index is 1.473(20°C), specific gravity of 0.825(15°C).
