The Eastman MD404 BK is an A-style mandolin with an oval sound hole. A beautiful sound hole rosette adds some extra style to the classy black finish and the instrument comes in a quality gigcase, so it’s well protected when you take it with you.
Like all Eastman instruments, the MD404 BK was made with great attention to detail. It was hand crafted with the use of traditional materials and good old-fashioned craftsmanship. The solid top is made out of spruce, a popular tone wood known and loved for its clear and bright tonality. Both the back and the sides of the body are made from hand carved, solid mahogany.
The Eastman MD404 BK has a maple neck with an ebony fingerboard. Twenty-three frets are neatly fitted to the fretboard and pearl dot inlays indicate the position on the ‘board.
The body construction with parallel bracings on the inside helps to create a round, liquid sound with excellent projection. The Eastman MD404 BK has the sound and the looks, so you get the total package.
