hydrophobicity and they are mostly used as water scavengers. They can also act as surface modifiers and reducing agents, especially for the treatment of micro and nanoparticles or mineral fillers

Functions & Applications of Long-chain Silanes
Long-chain organofunctional silanes at Co-Formula have gained great reputation in construction industry. Such long-chain silanes can be used in the formulation of water repellent products when
diluted with an appropriate solvent. Under proper application, the formulated product will penetrate and provide water repellency by chemically reacting with the cementitious substrate. Treated
substrates are hydrophobic and retain their original appearance.CFS-751, Octyltriethoxysilane with Cas No. 2943-75-1 is the most common hydrophobing agent in the market. Acting as a surface
modifier and a protecting agent, it can generate hydrophobicity on concrete, ceramic and glasses. Better silane waterproofing property can be achieved with the presence of CFS-751.
