Ferro molybdenum is a ferroalloy composed of molybdenum and iron, generally containing 50-60% molybdenum, with a high ferro molybdenum melting point, and is used as an alloy additive for
steelmaking. Its main use is as an addition of molybdenum in steelmaking. Adding molybdenum to the steel can make the steel have a uniform fine-grained structure, and improve the hardenability of
the steel, which is beneficial to eliminate temper brittleness.

Ferro Moly Uses
Ferro molybdenum powder is an alloy of iron and molybdenum, and it is primarily used as an additive in the production of steel and other alloys.
The biggest application of ferromolybdenum lies in the production of ferroalloys according to the content and range of molybdenum. It is suitable for machine tools and equipment, military
equipment, oil refinery oil pipes, load-bearing parts and rotary maneuvers.
As one of the types of refractory metals, Ferromolybdenum is also used in cars, trucks, locomotives, ships, etc.
In addition, femo60 molybdenum is used in stainless steel and heat-resistant steel is employed by synthetic fuel and chemical plants, heat exchangers, generators, refinery equipment, pumps, turbine
tubes, ship propellers, plastic and acid storage vessels.
Tool steels have a high proportion of ferro molybdenum iron in the range and are used for high speed machining parts, cold work tools, drills, screwdrivers, dies, chisels, heavy castings, balls and
drills for rolling mills, rolls, cylinder blocks, piston rings.

Ferro Molybdenum Manufacturing Process
The main raw material of ferro molybdenum smelting is molybdenite (MoS2). Molybdenum concentrate is usually roasted by multi-chamber furnace before smelting to obtain roasted molybdenum ore with
sulfur content less than 0.07%. Ferric molybdenum smelting generally adopts the out - furnace method. The furnace is a cylinder placed on a sand base, lined with clay bricks, and used as reducing
agent ferrosilicon 75% silicon and a small amount of aluminum granules. After the charge is added to the barrel once, it is smelted by the upper ignition method. An initiator (saltpeter, aluminum
shavings or MAGNESIUM shavings) is applied to the material surface. After ignition, there is a fierce reaction, followed by sedation, slag discharge and tube removal. Ferromolybdenum ingot is first
cooled in the sand nest, then sent to the cooling room for flushing and cooling, and finally broken and refined. The metal recovery was 92~99%.
Molybdenum oxide block is widely used to replace ferric molybdenum in steel making industry in recent years.
Features of Ferro Molybdenum
01.
Ferro molybdenum is an amorphous metal additive in the production process that has a variety of good properties that can be transferred to new alloys.
02.
One of the main advantages of ferric molybdenum alloy is its hardening properties, so that steel welding is very strong, ferric molybdenum is one of the country's 5 high melting point metals.
03.
In addition, the addition of ferric molybdenum alloys can improve corrosion resistance. The properties of ferric molybdenum make it an extra protective film over other metals and suitable for a
variety of products.
There are many refractory metal suppliers, but we are one of the best choices for you.
