DIN Cast Iron Flanged Globe Valve Features
MSTNLAND is not only among China's top cast iron gate valves manufacturers, we also provides high qiality cast iron globe valves. Cast Iron Globe Valve, also called water globe valve. It is
specially designed to suit for transportation, distribution and extraction system in water, air, oil and gas industry.Their bodies are made from ductile iron or cast iron and have integral flanges
which are available in two basic types;non-rising stem Inside Screw and rising stem Outside Screw and Yoke type. The inside screw type has the stem actuating thread within the pressure envelope and
is non-rising. This type of valve is usually used for non corrosive and reasonably clean services and has a smaller overall height than the outside screw type. The outside screw, rising stem type
has the stem actuating thread outside the pressure envelope and can be used on more active media where the fluid might otherwise have an adverse affect on the thread. The cast iron globe valve is
used often in applications like Heating, water distribution and water at Min and max Temperatures between - 10°C to + 120°C. Cast iron globe valves are avaiable for use in commercial and industrial
applications. Typical services include hot and cold water, HVAC, and other general utility services. That's why cast iron flanged globe valves are common valves used in sewage treatment plant.
DIN Cast Iron Flanged Globe Valve Installation and Commissioning
Installation and commissioning
Thoroughly clean and prepare the piping system before valve installation.
Remove the valve end caps if present, and inspect the valve ports and seating
surfaces for cleanliness just prior to installation.
Support the valve to prevent unnecessary stresses induced by connecting pipe.
Be sure the rating of the valve is compatible with the intended service conditions. Recommended
aptitude is with the stem in the vertical position. Horizontal stem installations can present issues for
larger valves, especially in reduced pressure service such as low pressure(5-35 psi) steam.
Bolt flange in line per recommendations of applicable ASME/ANSI standard, e.g. ASME/ANSI
B16.1. Use full face gaskets.
Operate the valve from the full open to closed position.
Verify the tightness of the packing nut/gland after installation.
Recommended installation: Stem in the vertical position with operator on top.
Notice:
Globe valves work in one direction only. Keep this in mind when you’re installing the valve. Proper installation means less wear and tear on the valve over time.
Mount the valve vertically on the pipe with the handwheel pointing up. This puts the working parts of the assembly under less pressure.
Never overtighten the handwheel. Overtightening puts added pressure on the gland packing. If there are issues with leaks, it means there’s a problem with the seat or the plug.
