Chemical properties of white shiny scaly crystals or white crystalline powder. Melting point of 137-138 ℃, refractive index 1.571. Insoluble in water, slightly soluble in ether, slightly soluble in boiling water, soluble in alcohol and chloroform. No significant color when dissolved in concentrated sulfuric acid, nitric acid dropped into the solution after orange yellow. Odorless, slightly bitter taste.
