Silicone rubber coated high temperature fiberglass rope is often used as a high temperature gasket in boiler applications, as the rope provides a heat resistant steam and gas tight
seal. Suitable for liquid, steam and gas sealing. The rope may be totally covered, or selectively covered.
Silicone Coated Fiberglass Rope is an E-glass braided or knitted rope with a thick coating of iron oxide red silicone rubber. Withstands 500°F / 260°C continuous exposure, 2200°F / 1205°C for
periods up to 15 minutes and short excursions to 3000°F / 1650°C, Silicone Coated Fiberglass Rope makes an ideal gasket where you require thermal performance plus resistance to wear and exposures.
A variety of knitted or braided ropes can be used as the E-glass substrate to vary the compression density. Diameters from 1/4″ (6 mm) to 2″ (50 mm). Special size is available if order is large.
