The Gunstock Bed

Our beds have that massive timber frame look and are especially "at home" in timber framed and log homes.

Douglas Fir and Larch arethe "oaks" of te west and are our preferred timber material. The wooden pegs used and also some of our spline work are accented using walnet,making an attactive contrast.

All joints are drawn together and pinned with hardwood pegs; no glue, staples, nails or screws. Our timbers are selectively sawn (FOHC), free of heart center and are kiln dried to provide the desirable stability needed when dealing with wood movement in funiture.

With the 6x8 corner posts tapered down to a 6x6 base, this is a unique style of traditional timber frame design where corner posts were flared to receive various crossmembers. The simple balanced beauty is still a favorite.

Timber Framed
