In 1972 when Polo was added to Robin Days already successful polypropylene chair family, the idea was to create a chair that would work equally well indoors and out, anti UV additives were used in the plastic to stop the colours fading in the sun, and the holes in the seat were designed to aid draining & ventilation. Polos high gloss shell, as well as contributing to the freshness of its character, serves the practical purpose of making the shell easy to clean. The lower seat back makes the design visually more informal as well as serving the very important purpose of supporting your lower back.
