The sides of the 'chevet' have gilt bronze swags depicting shells and flower motifs.
The feet are made of bronze and are decorated with 'acanthus' leaf motifs.
This 'chevet' stands 94 cms high x width 48 cm x depth 45 cm.
The cupboard itself is 28 cm high and would hold gin sized bottles and/or glasses.

This wonderful Napoleon 111, ( Second Empire), marble topped 'chevet' is a work of art.
The original marble top fits into a recessed lip around the top of the piece.
The whole 'chevet' is covered with burr walnut veneer, and inlaid with various fruit woods retaining most of their original colour.
There is a top drawer with original handle. Underneath this is the cupboard for the'pot'. It has a marble base and lining. The marquetry work to the front of this door is exquisite and depicts a
classical urn with flowers. This is an art of a bygone age.
