DESCRIPTION: The baskests were commonly used in Ethiopia by the Oromo and other people as a king of lunch/hot box. They are filled with Njira a type of pancakes eaten commonly in Ethiopia, these insulated baskets keep the food warm .. The baskets usually have straps to tie them closed as well as to make carrying easier. The leather becomes heavily patinated with extended use.
