Hand cut from heavy sheet metal, hand painted in richly crackled,distressed paint. Using sharp chisels, craftsmen cut the steel plateinto shape and hammer the edges. Others bend, cast and attach the wirehung counterweight and check balance and swing. Hand paintedfaces and important details. The distressed finish is the result of anold and proven system of combined layers of paint of slightly differentcomposition. The final step is a hand rub with dark colored beeswaxgiving it the final finish and feel. In the manner of their antiquepredecessors, our balance toys are true originals.
