Kelp horns are made from dried kelp. The kelp pieces are painted using designs that are suited to the various shapes of the horns and to the customer's requirements.
The horns consist of two distinct sections. The head and the body. The head is the bulbous area often including the dried fronds and the body is the extended length of the horn. The head is the
main feature and the body is painted with a matching design.
The simplest, the football vuvuzelas are decorated with stripes in the various club colours. Wildlife and sea creature designs are more complex. They are intended to help educate and encourage
awareness of wildlife especially of endangered species. Designs using human figures are more artistic and become decorative artworks in themselves. All the basic designs can be adapted to include
logos etc and can be modified as requested.
Once the horns have been painted they are coated inside and outside with a suitable varnish. They have a leather thong around the shaft for hanging and a paper neck tag with info about K.E.L.P as
well as contact info.
