The whole product is then primed on the back and the front coated with a clear finish for protection and beautifying the colours, producing a very colourful and decorative wall hanging. Yes the items can be hung outdoors BUT need a different protective coat to stand up against the suns U.V. rays combined with rain, salt air etc. Special protective coatings are applied on request only. Please enquire for prices as this is determined on size and protective coatings.

Then comes the real action, cutting the images with a combination of plasma cutter and oxy acetylene torch. The work is then grinded and hammered into shape to bring more life into it. There is a little magic in the process, the magic is in experience, the ability to do things with flame, metal and hands that few can. I work with grinders and flames, where other artists use paint and brush to color their work. Every one of my items is drawn by hand and cut, therefore every one being unique. Some sculptures only take an hour, others take a day or a few weeks to complete. The colour added is a process of different heat-temperatures.

Due to the amount of equipment and experience available, "Wilfried's Metal Art" was born. Wilfried calls it a nice passion to have as a side line, especially on the rainy days when he can't get out building his timber decks.

People often came knocking on Wilfried's door, looking for Jordi and his art and THAT is what triggered Wilfried to go a step further and to carry on where Jordi had left off.

Wilfried and Nadia's son Jordi, who learned a great deal from working alongside his Dad, also decided in 2002 to go on his own. Jordi preferred metal constructions and included metal art, he began making Dolphins and Geckos in his work. Also having adventurous blood in his vains just like the "old-man" he decided to go and explore overseas.
