The traditional drum is a reflection of the special cultural characteristics of the ancient Vietnam people. The first drum was invented more than three thousands years ago in northern Vietnam by the Lac Viet, the remote ancestors of the Vietnamese people. It played a vital role in the ancient society and was present in most important activities of Lac Viet civilization. Made for religious ceremonies, rallying men for war, or for other secular roles. The drum was decorated with rich and well composed images of objects, humans and animals. These images provided a lively description of the ancient Vietnamese society and its people, their daily chores, spiritual life and ceremonial activities. In the ancient daily life, the drums had a meaning beyond their use as a musical instrument, also representing wealth, prestige, and power. It exhibit the advanced techniques and great skill in the lost-wax casting of large objects, which reached the level of artistic perfection. In the middle of the drum face is an image of the sun with radiating beams, and many concentric rings with various geometrical patterns, flocks of dear and aquatic birds, human figure, musical instruments, and activities such as pounding rice, drums beatings

The product is skillfully made and is casted of purified bronze and by traditional and handicrafted methods. 

Height: 7.5cm, diameter: 8.3cm, net weight: appr. 400gr. Colour: bronze with black shadow
