A wonderful piece of history!!!

Bound in burgundy boards with gold guilt designs, this book still in very good condition for its a century of age.  Board cover is very good, but some staining.  Corners are bumped and worn   Hinges are quite strong, both inside and out.  Former owners name stamped on inside front page.  All pages, with gold leaf, are present and tightly bound.  Clean pages with some foxing.  This book measures approximately 9 x 6 x 1.75 and has 637 pages.

The title page to this volume reads, Sacred Biography and History, or, Illustrations of the Holy Scriptures.  Containing Descriptions of Palestine, Ancient and Modern; Lives of the Patriarchs, Kings and Prophets, and of Christ and the Apostles.  With notices of the most eminent reformers, Luther, Melancthon, Calvin, &c.  And sketches of the ruins of the celebrated cities, Palmyra, Nineveh, Jerusalem, and others mentioned in the sacred writings.  Edited by Osmond Tiffany, author of The American in China, Brandon, or a Hundred Years ago, &e.  Illustrated with numerous Beautiful Steel Engravings.  Published by Bill, Nichols & Company, Springfield, Mass.  Bill & Heron, Chicago, Ill.  H.
