The Cornish Pixie Company handcraft their Gift-Stix signs in a small workshop located on the North Cornish coast in the village of Kilkhampton. From one side of the workshop we can see the Atlantic Ocean that flows uninterrupted all the way to Newfoundland, Canada and on the other contentedly grazing cows. Cornwall is a part of Britain that was never conquered by the Romans and therefore remains a Celtic land with its own language (Celtic) and culture. One part of the culture is the Pixie a mythical being, sometimes naughty on occasions, but general only doing nice things like writing signs for us. Because our workshop is close to the Atlantic Ocean, on many days of the year we are covered in sea mist and on days like this people often see the Pixies at play. Gift-Stix are truly a Cornish gift with all of the hand-crafting and painting carried out in our North Cornish workshop. From the finishing of the wood taken from sustainable forests, to the colouring using only the finest of materials, and later to the moment when the sayings are added and the flowers and leaves painted, all as Cornish as our Pixies.
