MilanGabrovec is a respected maker of antique ship models. He built hisfirst model of Santa Maria more than 30 years ago. The majority of hismodells is displayed in castles, conference halls and in parlours ofmajor companies, while one is still displayed in a Belgrade museum.Altogether the number of models he created amounts to 14, 12 of thembeing the models of Santa Maria. With that in mind, Milan Gabrovec hasover 11.200 hours of modeling experience. He also created a modell thatis over 120 cm high and 170 cm long, which makes it the biggest modelof a Christopher Columbus' ship.

About the artist

Allmodels are entirely made by hand, which takes over 800 hours of work tobuild them. All the modells are made entirely from natural materials,mostly wood and burlap. The materials that are used are beech wood,plywood, mahogany veneer and hemp halyards and hawsers. The result is aunique product of high value with a special mark and charm.
