Ceramics & Porcelain

Chinaware is the generic name of ceramics and porcelain (ceramics and porcelain are formal names). An artist tempers clay and water, and then shapes the plastic mixture into all kinds of appliances. Then the appliances have been weathered and baked. Originally Chinese pottery began 7000 years ago. Porcelain was born out of pottery more than three thousand years ago. The mould of porcelain is made from Gaolin (high mountain) sand or porcelain clay or other composite materials. Body of porcelain is quite hard, compact, thin and non-bibulous. Porcelain is with the folk craftsmanship. China has many a widely distributed porcelain kiln with some of them very famous since ancient times. Porcelain is one of the great contributions that China made to the world.
