After 5 months in America in 2003 Alexis's art took a new turn to colourful and peopled landscapes. These oil and acrylic paintings portrays the Western Cape landscapes and seascapes with a touch of surrealism using the bright and rich colours of his African environment and culture. His art has developed from personal and introspective views to a more expressive and colourful representation of the world around him. This he do with his own unique style and use of colour.
