Palden Lhamo or Sri Devi is one of the most popular protector deities of Tibet. Newars call her Chvaskamunu Devi. She is perhaps the most malignant and powerful of all the demons, and the most dreaded. With her disproportionately large head, cruel, callous eyes and third eye in the centre of her forehead, her appearance is terrible. She is fat, muscular and menacing-looking, she rides a white-faced mule on a saddle of her own sons skin that she flayed herself. She is clad in human skins and eats human brains and blood from a skull. She is holding a trident rod in her right hand. Her open mouth show her great canine fangs and her rolling tongue. She wears a crown of five human skulls and a garland of coiled snakes
