It is located in mansinam, a small island in doreri bay, manokwari, papua. The christianity began entering papua on february 5,1855 when two evangelists, carl w. Ottow and johann gottlob geisler landed on mansinam island. Spreading the gospel, they had to translate it into the local language while at the same time they had to deal with wars between two major tribes around the doreri bay of manokwari, the doreri and the arfak tribes. It was not an easy job at all for these evangelists but they were quite success in their efforts. Now, the majority of the papuan people are christians.
