International Paris Art Salon. In the year of 1978 in Ljubljana, she participated in a group exhibition with the selection awarding her the Bronze medal for her paintings, while her works were placed in the famed salon of painting and sculpture "COMPARAISON" in Paris the same year. Her more important exhibitions were featured at the MONA LISA gallery in Paris, at galleries in London, Milan, Monte Carlo, Zurich, Baden, Schaffhausen, Vienna, Graz, Innsbruck, and Klagenfurt as well as in other European cities. If one would want to classify her in any particular frame, the task would prove to be troublesome. Irena Polanec introduces herself with her paintings as an autonomous and independent artist, which in her decades of striving has shaped her own artistic expression. Her paintings are unique portraits speaking about life, sentiment, and yearnings not only of the painter, but of all earthly Eves, after which Irena Polanec named her extensive painting cycle. It found an echo in the painter's second homeland France, more so than here in Slovenia, where besides the numerous awards and acknowledgement she gained the membership of their most visible association of artists.
