The African Easel, situated in Kasane, is a fully active art gallery that permanently displays artworks by various selected artists and arranges special exhibitions throughout the tourist season. We provide a cultural alternative to the more intrepid game-viewing or tiger-sfishing safaris for which the Chobe River is world famous. We encourage artists from Botswana to exhibit their work with us and provide a forum for them to reach the general public. We are open to the public six days a week.

SETTING
The confluence of the Chobe and the Zambezi rivers is also the junction where four countries meet: Botswana, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Zambia. Seventy kilometres further away are the mighty Victoria Falls - one of the natural wonders of the world - where the Zambezi River thunders over fantastic cataracts and pushes its way through the winding Batoka Gorge that leads into Lake Kariba. Part of the heritage of this very special part of the world is the prolific wildlife that has inspired poets and artists over the years. The game roams freely in and out of the national parks of Chobe, Hwange, Zambezi and Mosi oa Tunya and slightly further afield are the Okavango Delta, Moremi, Caprivi, Makgadikgadi, Central Kalahari and Kafue parks and game reserves. Amidst this backdrop of wildlife and African splendour lie the towns of Victoria Falls, Livingstone and the small safari town of Kasane, gateway to the famed Chobe National Park.

The African Easel is a fine art gallery that prides itself on a fine selection of investment art pieces for the discerning art collector, with particular emphasis on the subjects of African wildlife, people and landscapes.
