This 17th Century coloured, detailed and decorated map shows the City of London from Mile End & White Horse Lane in the East to St James's Square & Park in the West. In the Upper border center region is a picture of King Willem & Queen Maria Stuart flanked either side by small architectural pictures of: The Temple, White Hall, Westminster Hall and The Royal Exchange to the left, and Clarendon House, Covent Garden, New Bedlam and Bride Well to the right.On the lower border there are the City Gates: Cripple Gate, Alders Gate, New Gate and Lud Gate to the left. Two Horse Monuments are in the center (Stock Market & Charing Cross). A further 4 drawings of The Tower, Moore Gate, Aldgate and Bishops Gate to the right. The river Thames is adorned with London Bridge and various docks and wharfs and miniature sailing ships.
