WATER
This collection from the May/June 2006 show celebrates water on a grand scale, attempting to capture the mysteries of the sea with clarity and emotional resonance. Im told the work delivers a
sensual freshness, a cool warmth, with unpretentious and honest treatment of colour.
Michael Coulson from Financial Mail was complimentary, saying in his review, superb execution lack of technique is certainly not an accusation that can be leveled at Delaney. Water explores sea
and sky mostly in shades of blue, though theres a dramatic red sunset in I feel such freedom when I leave the world behind, with a white turbulence that suggests the wake of an ocean liner
setting out on a long voyage. Smaller canvasses are smoothly finished; in larger works the paint is more freely and thickly applied overall its an impressive offering.
