She was born in the sixties in the Boland District Paarl, South Africa and grew up on a wine farm where she got a lot of inspiration for her paintings.

She went to La Rochelle Girls School and then studied art at Cape Technicon. She currently lives in Bloubergstrand with her husband and two children and paints fulltime from her studio at home.
