19" Tibetan Gilt Cloisonne Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva Statue

Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva is the Spiritual Leader in the Netherworld. Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva had made a great vow for If hell realms is not empty; he will not attain Buddha-hood. However, sentient beings are limitless, so the vow of Ksitigarbha never seems fulfilled, so later on people called him Great Vow Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, meaning that he is the Treasure in earth.

Ksitigarbha  Bodhisattva  manifested as Brahma, Maheshvara, Shravakas, Bodhisattvas, Buddhas or even Yamas etc. He possessed inconceivable great powers which enables him to manifest so many bodies. In Tantrism, the secret epithet of Ksitigarbha is Compassionate Vow Vajra and Vow Vajra.

There are twelve kinds of Ksitigarbha, that is because of their different implements which they are holding, which then makes them having different epithets.
