The working principle is (please see the followed drawing): gas gets into the waste heat boiler through the front smoke box. In the boiler, water is heated by hot gas through the heat exchange pipes and up to saturated temperature then becomes the steam under specified steam pressure; passing the rear smoke box, the gas will heat the feed water in the economizer, where gas temperature will be decreased to 180 and discharged trough the stack.
