The Intrepid boiler is service friendly. Virtually 100% of heat exchanger surfaces are flue brush accessible to maintain the high heat transfer characteristics of the boilers cast-iron thermal pins. The easy-off flue collector can be quickly and repeatedly removed and put back into place with fiberglass rope seal. The burner door swings open for routine servicing. It also lifts off, making it easy to move the boiler to its installation location.

The cast-iron heat exchanger is assembled with durable metal push nipples. Specially shaped thermal pins promote efficient heat transfer. The Intrepid boiler is designed to protect against the adverse effects of changing operating conditions. Many boilers suffer from poor combustion and soot buildup when their setup conditions are changed by cold oil, cold air or changes in chimney draft. The contoured shape of Intrepids heat exchanger has one of the lowest draft losses in the industry. This supports stable combustion. Burners are configured for each specific model to provide smooth, clean, efficient operation. Unlike most oil boilers, Intrepids push nipples are located to the side, out of the way of the flue gasses. This creates more uniform heat transfer, minimizes draft loss and reduces soot build-up.
