This bayonet tube boiler operates downstream of a chlorinated hydrocarbon incinerator. Handling an extremely high level of HCl acid vapors, the system was designed for simplified serviceability. Since there are no bottom headers, the bayonet tubes can be easily serviced or replaced. The boiler was put in service in 1982.
