BHP Engineers were involved in getting 8 Shipsbuilt/converted for Indian Clients such as, Gujarat Ambuja Cement, Larsen & Toubro. Besides, BHP provided basic designs, drawings and equipment for ship bulk loading and unloading facilities at Muldwarka and Panvel respectively.BHP's extensive Interests in ship construction resulted in the first shipbuilding export order in 14 years for Mazagon Docks Ltd. The ship was a fully automated sea going sand cargo dredger of 75 meter lengthdelivered to Guadeloupe in West Indies.BHP have also supplied a part of the ship loader for Muldwarka and450 tph shipunloader for Coromondel Fertilisers, Visakhapatnam. BHP was involved in construction of a dredger for the Bhakra Beas ManagementBoard.1650 Cu.M Trailinghopper suction dredger with unmanned engine room. Deliverd toSaguaGuadeloupe, West Indies in July 2000 in collaboration with Hydroland,France.
