Bridge Cranes have 2 runways, a bridge and a hoist. Since the bridge is continuously moving, normally its weight is minimized by using light steel or aluminum shapes.The rails shown are enclosed track, which use nylon wheels riding on steel for extremely low friction.Bridge Cranes can be floor mounted, as shown, or hung from ceiling trusses.The support structure shown is made from standard parts mass produced at Givens Engineering.
