The 77 Extended House Expedition currently under construction is a three-stateroom yacht with an additional crew cabin forward and has a total of five heads, including a dayhead adjoining the dining area on the main deck. While there are many familiar accommodation designs in this 77, the main interior layout is unique to the owners requests and demonstrates Real Ships ability to build to any requirements. The main deck of Utopia houses the master stateroom and its en suite master head. The owners preferred the scenic vantage point of a stateroom above the waterline, and the ease of moving throughout their primary living spaces on one level. The master stateroom sits aft of the galley which is amidships and extends forward. The saloon space has moved upstairs and is aft of the pilothouse helm providing even more visibility in the common areas. An additional pantry storage space and full laundry room are on the lower level adjacent to the crew cabin, which also has access to a foredeck cargo hold that will store the owners bikes, Stairmaster, and crab pots. A massive utility room, accessible through a wide hatch in the covered cockpit or via a spiral staircase from the main deck, leads into the walk-in engine room. The owners have also equipped this 77 with a full-size front loading freezer in this space. To fully maximize exterior space on board Utopia, the long foredeck will carry an 18-foot Boston Whaler as well as a smaller Nautica RIB, and the owners also plan to store a Whitehall skiff and two kayaks on the top deck. A stairway leads from the foredeck up to the Portuguese bridge and provides complete walkaround access to the aft lounge deck, which will have teak flooring. There is no question that the owners of Utopia had a vision and Real Ships is helping them realize their dream yacht. When she launches, the owners will enjoy cruising her south to the Caribbean, then back home to the Pacific Northwest.
