Brief Description Filtration is a process by which components are separated using a filter media or septum. The teaching apparatus covers two general groups of experimentation. The first group covers three different types of filtration systems; the bag filter, the cartridge filter, and the sand filter, all of which are designed to remove suspended solids form water. The second group is a demonstration of the operation of a nanofiltration membrane, Unlike the first group, the solids are dissolved, not suspended, and the removal of the solids depends upon the molecular size of the molecule.Training Objectives The unit is designed to demonstrate the:
