About YAG Laser Marker:
The lamp-pump laser marking machine adopts the galvanometer scanning system. To achieve the purpose of marking, it adopts the 1064 nm wavelength solid YAG laser and galvanometer to control the laser deflection.
The wavelength of a YAG laser (1.064 microns) is exactly ten times smaller than the CO2 wavelength of 10.64 microns, which makes it ideally suited for absorption in most metals, but this small wavelength inhibits its ability to be absorbed by many other materials (wood, acrylic, plastics, fabrics, etc.)  

Remark:
Laser marking is the practice of using lasers to engrave, etch, or mark an object. Using a beam of light as a tool, marking by laser produces a non-contact mark which results in less wear and tear on tooling and associated costs. There is also less chance for product damage. There are also no consumables and no problems disposing of toxic by-products, as there may be with some methods.
High precision markings are achievable on almost any type of material including gold, platinum, silver, stainless steel, and aluminum, as well as a wide variety of plastics. The Laser Medium is the material that exhibits optical gain within a laser. The gain is generated by stimulated emission on electronic or molecular transitions to a lower energy state from a higher energy state reviouslyed stimulated by a pump source.
