Classification of the D.C Motor 1. Shunt Wound Motor Shunt Wound Motor is that connected the armature winding wire and field winding parallel so it has constant speed property that has little change of electric load. This Motor is suitable for alternating current generator inputting and precision machine operating that needs current frequency. 2. Series (Electric) Motor Series (Electric) Motor is that connected the armature winding wire and field winding series. And it has the speed change property because when the load current and field current is equal, the load current become decrease and the filed current also become decrease so the speed goes up. This Motor is suitable for driving like electric locomotive as it constant wattage property. 3. Compound Motor Compound Motor is as the Motor that has positive field winding wire that presents the neutral property of the Shunt Motor and Series (Electric) Motor, there is a Harmony compound Motor. Differential compound Motor is not used except in special case, the harmony compound Motor is now widely used. Harmony compound Motor is widely used in every industrial machine operating as it control the speed that makes the speed a little slow in the middle load and a little fast in light load according to the change of electrical load. 4. Separately Exited Motor Separately Exited Motor is as the method that use in armature winding wire and field winding specially, it is used in Shunt Motor and Compound Motor. As it is possible to control the wide-ranging speed as it can do voltage control and field electric current control separately or at the same time. So it is widely used in building machine for industry. Also it is possible to control constant torque and constant wattage as it can regulate the voltage control and field control freely.
