Carefully selected grade of electro graphite carbon brushes with constant pressure brush holders
are correctly located on an adjustable rocker assembly facilitates easy maintenance.
TESTING:
Motors are tested on full load, overload, using fully equipped thyristor converters. Simulating the
actual working condition can be demonstrated to the extent possible.
Grease lubricated and shield mounted antifriction bearings are used.
Reduced noise levels with special care is ensured for slot pulsations.
ARMATURE:
The shaft is manufactured from high grade rolled / forged steel and normally designed for 6 to 8 times normal
torque. Amature core is assembled from both sides using varnished low high permeable dynamo grade
stampings to maximise the efficiency.
Commutators are built up of drove-tailed high conductivity silver bearing copper. The arching action of this
ensures true running of commutators.
MAGNET FRAME:
The stator frame is built from assurately punched magnetic steel laminations clamped under pressure
to provide a rigid structure, to locate main and commutating poles. The pole bricks built from laminations
are accurately located in recesses provided in the stator stampings to ensure perfect symmetry so
essential for satisfactory commutation. Inert gas shield wielding is employed instead of rivetting.
The field coils are wound on spools which are bonded to pole bricks. This arrests vibration and enhances reliability.
