All major components are manufactured in-house with custom-built machinery. Our most important key technologies are three winding processes, motor manufacture and gearhead production as well as the
use of high-tech ceramics and magnetic encoder components. These technologies guarantee efficient production of large to very large quantities as well as maximum flexibility for special
requirements. maxon's committed team will continue its efforts to meet the technically fast changing demands of the high quality drive technology market . Together with our sales engineers we offer
customized solutions for specialized requirements. The Mars-Rovers are equipped with 38 maxon motors! automation.
Maxon specializes in developing, manufacturing and sales of high quality drive components and systems under the trade mark Maxon motor.
Maxon designs, manufactures, and markets fractional horsepower moving coil DC motors & brushless motors ranging in size from 6 to 90 mm (0.2 to 3.5 in) and from 30 mW to 500 W. We also have an extensive selection of gearheads, encoders, and control electronics to complement our motors.
Due to their extremely small size, Maxon's 6-mm pancake motors are particularly suitable for optical, laser, and bio-medical applications, test & measurement devices, and miniature robotics. Control electronics are also available.
The 6-mm (0.24 in) diameter motor is only 3.75 mm (0.15 in) in height (not including shaft), yet provides 30 milliwatts of output power. The maximum continuous torque output is 0.019 mNm (0.003 oz-in) while the maximum speed is 20,000 rpm. The motor weighs in at a miniscule 0.32 g (0.01 oz) and the ambient temperature rating is -40
