Daihatsu Motor

Astra has shares in PT Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM), a joint venture with Daihatsu Motor Co. Ltd. (DMC), which manufactures Daihatsu and Toyota vehicles and components. Since 1978, ADM has been the sole importer, assembler and manufacturer of Daihatsu automobiles in Indonesia. Daihatsu introduced a low-segment MPV and commercial variants, with the new Gran Max in November 2007. This product is to be exported to Japan in line with DMCs selection of Indonesia as its regional production base, with an export target of 25.0% of production within two to three years.
