Expansion Joints Damper Conveyor

Bellows offered by us are designed based on E.J.M.A.guidelines and our standard range comprises of Bellows from 1/2" NBupto 12" NB, in single and multi-ply construction for different workingtemperatures, pressures and movements.

We offer short, mediumand long movements from our standard range. The movements specified areof equal rated compression and extension about the free length of theunit. it is permissible to "cold draw" the units.

The standardrange of bellows are available for maximum pressure rating upto 16 barand temperature rating upto 1200?C. For high pressure ratings multi-ply Bellows are recommended and can be offered.

The standardmaterial used by us are stainless steel in grades AISI 304, 316L and321 depending upon the requirement of working temperature andenvironment. End fittings can be provided, such as, flanges, pipe ends,tie-rods etc.

Besides our standard range, we also undertake design and development of specialized Bellows for specific applications.

METALLIC BELLOWS

H. Gasket
Single ply fluoroplastic and fluoroelastoplastic belt designs such asUltrachem materials require flexible chemically inert gaskets.

G. Fabric Attachment Flanges
Fabric attachment flanges are required to connect the flexible elementto the ductwork. Properly designed, they can be attached directly tothe duct work and thus eliminate the necessity for an adjoining ductflange. Flanges can be designed with a "landing bar" duct attachmentwhich allows some installation misalignment without affecting theflexible element. The flanges establish the stand off height of thefabric, which is necessary to achieve thermal integrity during allmovement conditions. The edges of the flanges in contact with the gasseal membrane should also have a radius to prevent damage.

F. Accumulation Bag
An accumulation bag is intended to deter flyash from building up in theexpansion joint cavity. It is typically used, in conjunction with aliner, in duct runs from boilers to air clean-up equipment such asprecipitators, scrubbers and bag houses, or whenever high amounts ofdust or ash are present in the gas. A flyash barrier must be capable ofretaining its strength and flexibility while being exposed to maximumsystem temperatures and media.

E. Metal Liner or Baffle
A liner is designed to protect the gas seal membrane and insulatinglayers of the flexible element from abrasive particles which may bepresent in the gas stream. A liner is also used to reduce flutter ofthe fabric element caused by turbulence, to help control theaccumulation of dust or ash in the expansion joint cavity, and toreduce the temperature of the flexible element.

D. Back up Bars
Back up bars, positioned at the flange attachment, use clampingpressure to create the fabric-to-duct seal and restrain the fabric whenit is subjected to the system pressure. The thickness and width of theback up bars should be sufficient to perform this function with thebolt spacing being used. The edges of the back up bars should have aradius to preclude cutting of the fabric.

C. Insulating Retainer Layer
This layer is provided to keep the insulating layers in place in orderto maintain thermal integrity. The retaining layer must be capable ofwithstanding gas stream temperatures and must be chemically compatiblewith system media.

B. Insulating Layers
The insulating layers provide a thermal barrier to ensure that theinside surface temperature of the gas seal membrane does not exceed itsmaximum service temperature. The insulating layer can also reducecondensation caused by the gas stream coming in contact with the "cool"surface of an uninsulated gas seal membrane.

A. Gas Seal Membrane
The gas seal membrane is intended to withstand system pressure and beresistant to chemical attack from the interior and the exterior. Thegas seal must also have the flexibility to absorb thermal movements.Depending on system temperature, it may require additional thermalprotection.
